– and changes the world
FOREWORD
For us, coffee is more than just
a warm drink. Coffee creates
connections: between people,
between cultures, and between us
and our planet. It is our responsibility
to ensure that these connections
remain strong, responsible,
and shaped for the future.
We are proud to be Denmark’s largest coffee
roastery – with roots going back to 1960 and a
heritage that carries responsibility. But being
large is not just about volume. It is also about
care. Because with our position comes an
obligation: Our choices and actions matter. For
the climate – and for the people who are part of
coffee’s journey from bean to cup.
We have already turned words into action:
Energy from solar panels now covers 23% of our
electricity consumption. We are following our
CO2-reduction plan and remain on track to meet
our Science Based Targets reduction goal for
2030. And our strong, long-term partnerships
with coffee farmers – such as our Paraíso
project in Brazil – help improve both coffee
production and the livelihoods of the farmers
we work with.
We believe that real change requires collaboration.
That’s why we are also proud of KONTRA Coffee, a
part of the BKI family and a catalyst for sustainable
development – an inspiration that continuously
raises our ambition. Through their work on
projects such as Orang Utan Coffee in Indonesia,
which protects the rainforest and supports forestgrown coffee, they show how responsibility and
quality can go hand in hand.
This sustainability reporting is our first – but
it is not our first step. It offers an honest view
of where we stand today and where we are
heading. Because we are only just getting
started.
We share it with you in the hope that it inspires,
informs, and invites dialogue.
Together, we can make a difference.
