Ethical
sourcing
When we buy coffee, we want to do
more than protect – we want to improve
Buying coffee inevitably affects both people and nature. Coffee
is grown in some of the world’s most challenging regions, where
the risk of poor working conditions, environmental pressure
and social inequality is a real part of everyday life.
That is why our purchasing policy must reach beyond simply
protecting ourselves from unacceptable conditions. It must
actively support development – better conditions for farmers,
healthier local communities and more responsible farming
practices where the coffee is grown.
We call it ethical sourcing.
For us, it means using our purchasing power to create positive
change – and doing so in a way that is built on long-term
relationships, integrity and mutual respect.
That is why our strategy is built on six concrete steps.
