Welcome to
Coffee with Care
Every year, we import large quantities of green coffee beans
from across the world – from the mountain slopes of South
America to the highlands of East Africa. They are shipped to
Aarhus in Denmark, where we roast them with precision and
passion before sending them on to you. To the coffee you share
with family and colleagues – or those quiet moments alone
Since 1960, we have been roasting coffee for the people of Denmark. It all began with our founder, Svend
Mathiesen, and today BKI remains in the hands of the
Mathiesen family. Now, the third generation is helping
drive development and lead BKI into the future – with
curiosity, innovation and respect for the craftsmanship
and values on which everything is built.
This is the approach that has brought us here: a lasting
dedication to flavour, to the people behind the beans,
and to the world in which coffee is grown.
Because great coffee should taste great – but never at
the expense of the planet or our own well-being. That is
why we work purposefully to find the right balance for
the coffee of the future, so it can also be enjoyed with a
clear conscience tomorrow.
