Emissions in
the value chain
The vast majority of our climate footprint lies in the
value chain outside our own production. In 2023, it
amounted to 102,167 tons of CO2.
The biggest contributors to these emissions are the
cultivation of coffee beans and the transport that
brings them to Denmark.
In the cultivation stage, emissions mainly arise from fertiliser use and energy consumption on the farms. The
transport element is driven primarily by shipping and
trucking, which together leave a significant footprint.
With a clear overview of emissions across the value
chain, we can now focus on where we can make the
most meaningful impact – both in how we work with
coffee farmers and in how we bring the coffee home.
