The path to
CO2 reduction
SCOPE 1 & 2:
25% absolute reduction in 2024
with a 42% target for 2030
We are working purposefully to reduce our own
CO2 emissions. Even though we have increased
our production by 29% since 2021, we have still
succeeded in reducing our emissions by 2.5%
over the same period.
Less energy behind the coffee
CO2 reduction is about more than numbers.
It’s about ensuring that future generations
can enjoy a good cup of coffee – and about
each of us doing our part to counter climate
change.
Coffee production is already under pressure
from climate challenges such as drought,
extreme weather and plant diseases.
That’s why we are working purposefully to
reduce our climate footprint – both to protect
our product and to take responsibility in the
local communities we work with.

Our targets are validated by the Science
Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This means
that our reduction plans meet the highest
international standards and align with the
goals of the Paris Agreement. Specifically,
we have committed to reducing our Scope 1
and 2 CO2 emissions by 42% by 2030.
As a next step, we aim to extend this work
to include reductions in Scope 3 emissions
as well.
We look at the entire journey – from the coffee
farms to the roastery in Aarhus and on to the
customer – to ensure a cup of coffee with a
smaller climate footprint and greater care.
